Unproductive Behaviors Are Bad for Business
Many times leaders/manager/executives in organizations may unintentionally and unconsciously say or behave in a manner that offends fellow co-workers who may be part of diverse populations. Because many people may be unaware of such behaviors/verbalizations, these unwanted behaviors can and will cause unproductive work environments that impact the “bottom line.”

  1. What is Executive Coaching?
Executive Coaching is a partnership between a coach and an executive/employee where both parties work to increase the executive's contribution to the organization.

CCPS utilizes Executive Coaching to improve an executive's/employee's contributions to his/her organization by strengthening the executive's/employee's ability to foster fairness and equality within his/her organization. If an executive is shown how to better relate to diverse co-workers, the cohesiveness of the work atmosphere is formed, and the work environment becomes a more enjoyable, productive setting.

  2. What is the goal of Executive Coaching?
To strengthen the executive's/employee's abilities to work with others who are diverse according to, for example, gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and physical ability, as well as to teach the executives/employees to lead by example within the organization.

  3. What are the benefits of Executive Coaching?
  4. a. Increased employee pride and productivity
    b. Achieved self-awareness and sense of responsibility
    c. Enhanced knowledge about working with diverse employees
    d. Improved behavior among employees
    e. Executive retention
    f. Improved employee-client relations

  5. Who should solicit Executive Coaching?
All organizations exhibit diversity in some aspect, if not through more observable ways like race, ethnicity, gender, and physical ability, then by more abstract ways like world views, personal experiences, and sexuality. Therefore, CCPS Executive Coaching is beneficial for executives and other employees from all types of organizations:

    Executive coaching is for:

    a. Individuals who would like to:

    1. Enhance awareness about behaviors and attitudes towards others who are different; and
    2. Maximize current performance for himself/herself and the organization.

    b. Executive Coaching is for all types of organizations:

    1. Educational institutions
    2. For profit organizations
    3. Non profit organizations
  6. What is the general process of Executive Coaching?

    a. Engagement and Contracting

    1. The CCPS coach, the referring organization, and the executive/employee will develop a plan to meet the expected outcomes of the executive/employee and the organization that referred the executive to CCPS.
    2. The CCPS coach identifies weaknesses and strengths of the executive/employee that will be addressed throughout the coaching process.
    3. The CCPS coach will provide feedback to the organization in a timely manner. Many times the feedback to the organization may be one or two days after a coaching session with the executive/employee. During the coaching process, the organization is kept in the loop by phone calls and/or e-mails to the organization that referred the executive/employee to CCPS.

    b. Coaching Agenda

    1. The agenda creates a clear picture of the steps that will be taken to accomplish the goals and objectives for both the referring organization and the executive/employee.
    2. A time line is created to establish how frequently the executive/employee meets with the CCPS coach. Frequency of meetings are established by the referring organization.

    c. Delivering the Coaching

    1. Executive/employee practice newly learned behaviors and receive feedback from the CCPS coach about his/her development.
    2. The executive/employee return to work as a more efficient member of the diverse organization.
  7. Other Deliverables to the Organization
      1. At the end of the contracted sessions with the executive/employee, a brief final report will be submitted to the organization with recommendations.

Generally, the final report will include the following information:
        1. goals for the executive/employee based on the stakeholder,
        2. dates met,
        3. number of hours met per visit,
        4. summary of progress, and
        5. recommendations.

Other information included in the final reported will be based on suggestions from organization. ii. There will be brief homework assignments for the executive/employee to complete before each session. In addition, some sessions will be comprised of activities (e.g., video clips) that the executive/employee will view as part of the awareness training. It is estimated that the brief homework assignments will take minimal time to complete.
